HACK/SLASH #1 (ONGOING SERIES)
’m trying to think. Would losing a pinky toe be so bad? I mean, its friggen tiny down there… on my foot. An added appendage. An extra ugly piece of bone and skin that reminds me of that wagging tail on Jason Alexander from Shallow Hal…
Hostel 2 (2007)
“Hostel: Part Two” picks up directly from the final shot of its predecessor with Paxton (Jay Hernandez) waking up onboard a commuter train a few fingers shy of a handful. He’s then transported to a hospital where the viewer is given a refresher of what happened in the first film
Pieces, 05/30/2007
Everyday life seems to finally be winding back down to normal. I may even be able to scribble something here more than once or twice a month now! Let’s sift thru the pieces…
…I’m tearing thru the final book in Stephen King’s epic, The Dark Tower; godz but this thing is good.
…picked up current issues of Rue Morgue, Fangoria and Cemetery Dance and enjoyed them all so much that I ordered subscriptions to all three of them.
…got my signed limited run hardcover copy of Norman Partridge’s Dark Harvest from the fangtastic Cemetery Dance Publications; can hardly wait to jump into that story, but I’m committed to finishing The Dark Tower before I start in on another book. Geez, I’ve been on quite a reading binge lately.
…had some friends visiting over the weekend and we wound up staying awake until 2:00am Sunday morning to finish watching the 1988 remake of The Blob. I forgot how much fun that li’l flick is.
…it didn’t get the best reviews in the mass press, but I actually enjoyed An American Haunting. It’s was no Academy Award winner by any means, but it was a fun piece of scary fluff for an evening. I actually enjoyed it enough that I bought the DVD and watched it again with Cridafer.
…one last piece: if you haven’t caught Fox’s On the Lot on Monday and Tuesday nights, give it a try. Ok, so this isn’t strictly horror related but it is featuring a competition among some great (and a couple not so great) up and coming film directors; and with theme nights being all the rage on these types of shows, they’re bound to have a horror night, right?
Big Bad Wolf on DVD June 5th
BIG BAD WOLF will be hitting DVD June 5th by Screen Media and just finished its limited theatrical run in Los Angeles last weekend when it premiered at the Fine Arts Theater. And for those of you who haven’t heard of this nasty little treat, it is a strong sexual meditation on the lycanthrope folklore similar to the Brother Grimm’s tale of “Little Red Riding Hood” with its warning of sexual predators.
Dennis Iliadis to Remake Last House on the Left
Variety has confirmed that Dennis Iliadis (director of the teen angst prostitution drama HARDCORE) willbe helming the 2008 remake of Wes Craven’s THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT. The script was penned by newcomer Adam Alleca, who was brought in when he initially approached Craven to remake THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS.

Bug
Paranoia is contageous.
A woman with a seriously screwed-up life ends up taking in an odd but likeable stranger. As they get closer they deal with several issues like her ex-con ex-husband and the delusion that theyre both infested with some kind of blood-eating bugs.
Like most people who watched this film this weekend, I went in under the assumption that this was a completely different movie. On the one hand I like a movie like this, original, disturbing, realistic. They really expand the horizons of horror and at the same time open up the genre to lots of people whod normally look down their nose at our beloved horror. On the other hand, who gives a shit what those people think and why am I being so nice when I was essentially a victim of the fraud perpetrated by the people who marketed this disappointing movie?
Lindsay Lohan Stripping ?I Know Who Killed Me? Website and Trailer
Finally you can catch a glimpse of Lohan stripping over at the “I Know Who Killed Me” website…

In the town of Grockleton, the “Landlord” and his minions (Pooch, Pike, and Dobbin) preside over the Beesley’s Manor. The “Landlord” is on the look out for his new bride and child to carry on the Beesley name and watches anyone who dares to enter Grockleton.

B Movie Celebration
The First Annual B Movie Celebration will be held August 17th-19th in Franklin, Indiana. The Celebration will feature over 50 classic B movie screenings. Special guests include SFX guru Tom Savini (DAWN OF THE DEAD), director Jim Wynorski (CHOPPING MALL), and actor Conrad Brooks (PLAN 9 FROM OUTERSPACE)…
BUG (2007)
BUG is not a horror film. At least not a conventional one. There is no masked baddie to outrun, no one to torture our heroes slowly. No plague, no undead, not even very much in the way of ill will. With the exception of an abusive husband, no one really means anyone any harm and everyone is trying to look out for everyone else. What’s the all encompassing dread that William Friedkin builds BUG around?
Brain Hammer?s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT Vol 666
Are you a fan of Evil Dead/Bruce Campbell/Sam Raimi? If you are, this week’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are perfect for you! This week’s “terrible trio” consists of three often overlooked 80’s horror flicks that all promenently feature “Evil Dead” alumni. These fun flicks also feature an abundance of splashy carnage and creative originality. Let the bloodshed begin!!!
Suvari Speaks on ‘Day of the Dead’
It has horrible, horrible buzz, but Steve Miner’s remake of George Romero’s “Day of the Dead” is slowly starting to get press. Star Mena Suvari (best known for roles in “American Pie” and “American Beauty” spoke to Sci-Fi Wire about her role in the film, which may be released later this year.
Yes — Even More ‘Halloween’ Images
They just don’t stop comin’. New shots of Young Michael Myers, and one of masked/old Michael Myers confronting what looks like a Pumpkinhead.
Interview with the Director of ‘28 Weeks Later’
An exclusive interview with the director of the best horror film of the past 10 years! You owe it to yourself to see “28 Weeks Later” this weekend (possibly the last chance you have to see it on the big screen), and recommend that you don’t read this interview with the director until AFTER you have seen the film.
