There are some frequencies we were never meant to find.
Eastern cinema-goers have long accepted the philosophy that sometimes, things just happen. As this is a primary belief in their culture, they don't need a reason for everything that happens on screen. Sometimes, this reluctance to fill in the blanks allows us Western viewers an opportunity to use our noggins to draw our own conclusions (a skill we don't normally use while watching horror films). Other times it just makes us scratch our heads and wonder what the fuck just happened.
In the case of Kairo, the 2001 Kiyoshi Kurosawa film on which this remake is based, the plot purposefully unveils itself slowly, allowing us to connect the dots only near the end. Pulse hits us with the plot at the very start which, in a rare exception, actually works in its favor, allowing us to kick in and roll with the tension and making for a more gripping story.

NEW I Am Legend Pictures
So far all we have seen from I Am Legend, is Will Smith walking around with his dog, and it looks like that is all we are going to see, at least until the film comes out on December 14, 2007. Based off the short story by Richard Matheson, I Am Legend tells the story of Robert Neville, the last man on earth. A virus wipes out millions of people, while infecting millions of others, turning them into vampire like zombies.
Ghost Road Blues - Book Review
Ghost Road Blues is one of the best books I have read this year. Already winning the 2006 Bram Stoker Award for Best First Novel by Author Jonathan Marberry and with a planned second book, DEAD MAN’S SONG there isn’t really much more to say then hurry up and read it because you don’t want to be left behind.
Wrong Turn 2 (2007) - Movie Review
I had no intentions of seeing this and only did because of the positive buzz the movie has gained. Wrong Turn 2: Dead End, does have some positive elements to it, but it suffers in more ways than it succeeds.
Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN Unrated DVD Exclusive: Danielle Harris Talks Extra Footage (SPOILERS)

Rob Zombie’s Halloween DVD Info
Fangoria got the scoop on Rob Zombie’s Halloween DVD (Read Review Here) which will be released on December 18th. There will be a R-rated theatrical version and a Unrated Director’s Cut with about 11 minutes added back in.
Dimension Nabs Wizard of Gore Remake
Horror-Movies.ca has learned via Fangoria that Dimension has acquired the rights of the Wizard of Gore remake. Jeremy Kasten’s film has been blowing in the wind for quite some time, but there is no word on what they will do with it, meaning theatrical release or send it straight to DVD.
A Very Supernatural Friday the 13th
Ya know what I really enjoy? Supernatural, that rockin’, shockin’ show on the CW network featuring evil-hunting brothers Sam and Dean Winchester in weekly tales of terror. Oh…I’ve mentioned that a few times? Ok then….ya know what else floats my cadaver? Friday the 13th flicks! So the news that the Winchester brothers will be going mano a machete against Jason Voorhees this season makes me apoplectic with joy! Says series creator Eric Kripke:
“We have Jason from Friday the 13th, the character with the hockey
mask. He shows up in episode 10. We have cleared the rights to actually
use Jason. We have a twist on it so it is not really Jason out there
but we have found an interesting way to bring him in so Sam and Dean
fight Jason from Friday the 13th. In our world, that is a pretty cool
guest star.”
So I’m curious…..’not really Jason’, yet they fight him in episode 10? Ooo-kaaay…not really sure what that means but you can bet yer last appendage that I’ll be tuned in to find out!

Lysette Anthony Nude (Tales From the Crypt & Krull)
Lysette was in that Krull movie, which even as a little kid, I thought looked awful and avoided. Years later she appeared in Playboy (December, 1988) then went on to play Angeliqué from 1991’s Dark Shadows revival. She was all over HBO and Cinemax that decade too; Tales from the Crypt, Trilogy of Terror 2, some titty flicks like Save Me, and non-horror crap I don’t care about. I don’t usually have a thing for older chicks, but the older she got the hotter she became. Maybe it’s the classy English accent.. but I still say Lysette Anthony’s a talented actress and total hottie.
