Horror Movies Banned in China
This is BIG. From esplatter.com: "In anticipation of the upcoming Olympics, horror movies are now officially banned in China. This is apparently so that no tourists will be offended when they are visiting the country for the 2008 Olympics.
In a statement posted on the official Web site of the General Administration of Press and Publications, film producers have been told that they have three weeks look through their tapes for "horror" and report it to authorities.
What does the administration define as "horror"? Anything that includes "wronged spirits and violent ghosts, monsters, demons, and other inhuman portrayals, strange and supernatural storytelling for the sole purpose of seeking terror and horror."
Wrong Turn 2: Dead End
In the forest, only they can hear you scream.
Deep in the woods of West Virginia a small production crew is shooting the pilot episode for a new reality show called The Apocalypse, which pits contestants against one another to see who the ultimate survivor is. But as the contestants and crew soon learn, this reality show is about to become more real than they could every imagine for hidden deep in the woods is a family that has survived longer than anyone else and they have survived robbing, killing and eating anyone who comes into their neck of the woods. Once again, deep in the Appalachian wilderness, someone has made a wrong turn and this time it heads straight into a dead end!
I wasnt a huge fan of Wrong Turn when it came out a few years ago and I have to admit I wasnt that thrilled when I heard they were making a direct to video sequel, but I found this sequel to be not only better than the first film, but a hell of a lot more fun as well.

Lisa Marie as Vampira in Tim Burton’s “Ed Wood”
Looking at this gorgeous woman makes my soul ache. When I first laid eyes on Lisa Marie portraying Vampira in Tim Burton’s brilliant Ed Wood, it was better than when I first got laid. If you’re like me and you have that little dark streak that makes you totally lust after dark damsels […]
The Evil Dead #1
I’m gonna have to say that both the first and second Evil Dead movies were better than Army of Darkness (AKA Evil Dead 3). And I also gotta say that Dark Horse’s new Evil Dead comic just might be better than the Army of Darkness comics as well! Only time will tell, since […]

Spiral Movie
Its a shame that I didn’t hear about this movie before seeing the advertisments for it on bloodee. Let’s get things straight: if you advertise here, and I am aware of it (since the site is represented, I don’t know all advertisers), I am going to watch the movie and talk about it. Simple as that. And again, its a shame I didn’t hear about Spiral before seeing the ads, because I would have talked about it more than once, posted to the official site, trailer, poster, etc.
But yet again, I digress.
Spiral is a very well-acted phychological thriller about Mason (Joel Moore) a lonely man, telemarketer by day, painter by night, whose only friend is his boss (Zachary Levi). Mason is recluse and haunted by his past and flashbacks of his former girlfriend. When he meets and starts building a relationship with Amber (Amber Tamblyn), his life takes an upturn, but the past is never far away, and as he begins painting Amber, the past, it seems, will repeat itself. And so… as it is for many films, the line between fiction and reality is blurred, leaving you to guess which is which. The film’s ending answers the question, and is a sober conclusion to a slow, but intense movie. Spiral is slow, but drags you in, and the story unfolds in such a way that it actually doesn’t "feel" slow. But it is. It is slow, but well worth
the watch.
