Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds
Feast was one of the most thoroughly entertaining horror movies of the last few years, so folks can’t help but have some expectations for Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds. And from the start, Feast 2 had its work cut out for it. There are no off-beat semi-super-stars like Jason Mewes, Henry Rollins, or even [...]

Wes Craven Calls ‘25/8′ a ‘Personal Project’
Wes Craven’s next movie is a horror film called “25/8″, about a young man who discovers that he is the son of a serial killer who had unconsciously committed his crimes.
In a preview of 2009 horror films, the Los Angeles Times spoke to Craven, who said the film is a “personal project.” “That just intrigued me,” Craven said, “both the idea of doing things that you’re not aware of — which I think is a lot of the history of the United States, that hidden history — and then just the inheritance of violence from one generation to the next, whether we’re doomed to repeat it, how deeply are we implicated…”

A Tribute to Bob Wilkins
Davd Del Valle over at Cinefantastique wrote what may be the best tribute to the late “Creature Features” host Bob Wilkins to appear anywhere yet.
Bob Wilkins was a unique horror movie host in that he avoided that sort of camp stuff. Bob wore a suit and tie and sat in a yellow rocking chair on a small modest set. He would simply rock back and forth, smoking his cigar and lamenting whatever he was asked to introduce as the evening?s feature. He did this every Saturday night – on his own most of the time, but he would try to have guests to interview if he thought they could add something to the witches? brew he was serving up on Creature Features.

Meanwhile, the official Bob Wilkins site reports there will be two tribute shows in Northern California for the late horror show host. “There are two tribute shows for the fans in the works, one in the Bay Area and one in Sacramento.

Six months after losing her only child in the Southeast Asia tsunami, Jeanne is convinced she sees him in a film about orphans living in the jungles of Burma. While her husband is worried that she’s losing her mind, he agrees to a search mission.

More ‘H2′ Details Emerge
Rob Zombie gave the site Icons of Fright some insights into his “H2″ sequel, which apparently has Laurie Strode as an older character. “now she?s not the happy-go-lucky girl, now she?s very fucked up famous person, trying to make sense of this,” he tells Icons of Fright.

Exclusive Interview with the Director of ‘My Bloody Valentine’
No one was more depressed at cuts made to 1981 Canadian slasher movie “My Bloody Valentine” than its director George Mihalka. Mihalka’s original gory vision for this now classic slasher film was finally restored this year with the first-time-ever uncut release of the film on DVD from Lionsgate.
We had the chance to ask the veteran filmmaker some questions about his film and his future plans.
How does it feel to have your film released uncut after so many years?
Like an unexpected surprise, a present you find years after the party., Seriously, I am relieved that finally the fans can get a taste of what we originally intended the film to be.
The film seems like an altogether different movie with the gore scenes intact. Was it devastating when they forced you to make cuts all those years ago?
Of course it was devastating. It was like dying a death by a thousand cuts, since after the initial demands to cut large chunks of the scenes, we then had to spend another week trimming shots by a second here and there and then another round where we were told to cut a frame or two from each shot.

The Latest on Dante Tomaselli’s ‘Torture Chamber’
It seems like forever since there was a Dante Tomaselli movie. That’s because “Satan’s Playground” came out several years ago and his oft-mentioned “The Ocean” didn’t get the financing it needed.
But “Torture Chamber” is happening — and from the sounds of it, the film will be vintage Tomaselli. The New York director recently spoke to HorrorNews.net about the production, and here’s what he had to say:
It has an all encompassing sense of gloom throughout. Children are not what they seem. A crumbling abandoned castle with an underground medieval torture chamber is the film’s main setting.
Monsters HD, RIP
In some seriously sad news for horror fans, Monsters HD, arguably the very best horror TV channel around, is going out of business.
Official word from the offical site:
“Monsters HD – Born: October 2008 – Died: January 2009. TV’s first and longest-running hi-def horror and creature feature channel will cease operations and mad experiments this month. Thanks for all the screams and support through the years. Fear not – monsters never die … they always come back! Pleasant dreams fiends.”
Monsters HD was a casualty, it seems, of the Voom Network losing access to subscribers of Dish Network.

Review for ‘My Bloody Valentine 3-D’
Steve Biodrowski of Cinefantastique likes what he’s seen of “My Bloody Valentine.”
This film goes a long way toward giving remakes a good name. It takes a not particularly memorable film – one of a myriad holiday horror titles to follow in the wake of John Carpenter?s HALLOWEEN (1978) – and turns it into a crowd-pleasing horror movie that is actually much better than the slasher films of the 1980s from which it borrows its template. It delivers more than enough gore to satisfy the horror hounds – all of it comin? at ya in glorious 3-D – but it never feels sadistic or off-putting.
Equally impressive, screenwriters Todd Farmer and Zane Smith successfully manipulates the mystery and suspense elements to create an effective thriller almost from beginning to end. Their script keeps audiences guessing about the killer?s identity. Although it resorts to a cheat or two to throw you off the scent, there are clues that will alert sharp-eyed viewers to the cheats, so in a sense the film plays fair.

Q and A with Patrick Lussier, Director of ‘My Bloody Valentine 3-D’
Steve Biodrowski of Cinefantastique caught up with Patrick Lussier, director of the hit “My Bloody Valentine 3-D”, currently making millions at cineplexes.
Director Paul Lussier and writer Todd Farmer attended a preview screening at the Arclight Cinemas Hollywood and answered questions about the film. (Lussier will be appearing after the 8:00pm screening of the film at the Arclight Cinemas Sherman Oaks on Saturday.
Asked about his reason for writing the film, writer Todd Farmer said: “The original terrified me when I was young. The thing with the drier was a tribute to it. I saw that when I was a kid, and it screwed me up so bad that I never saw the movie again until we started doing this. I subconsciously just stayed away from it.
