Horror Genre Gets Own Category at the Razzies

The writers strike may have stopped the Oscars and Golden Globes but it can’t take down the Razzies. The 2007 Razzie Award nominations celebrating the worst in movies have been announced, and this year they added a new category Worst Excuse for a Horror Movie honoring our genre. The nominations are:

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem
Captivity
Hannibal Rising
Hostel: Part II
I Know Who Killed Me

Hostel: Part II and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem also earned nods for Worst Prequel or Sequel along with Daddy Day Camp, Evan Almighty and Hannibal Rising. Lindsay Lohan’s I Know Who Killed Me received the most nominations for Worst Picture, Worst Actress (along with Elisha Cuthbert for Captivity), Worst Remake or Rip-Off (“Rip-Off of Hostel, Saw and The Patty Duke Show).
